> HI, just been looknig at this myself, i always thought it was welsh but it turns out that Ich Dien is actually German for "I Serve" the link below might give you some more info on it.
It's true that it means 'I serve', but comes from the 14th Century when German and English (Anglo-Saxon) were more similar. Hence, I think it's just Old English.
