Owain, I have read your reply to the first question twice. Now, please do this for a poorly informed reader. And, please believe me when I say I am being as sincere as you are. All of your list tells me what Wales "did do", "did have", "was" and every bit of it is true. It is enough to make any peoples proud. But, you do not tell me what Wales "has" and "can do" today. I mean specifics. What natural wealth does Wales have that is endemic to your country? What can Wales create totally on its own that would let it survive as a free nation supporting itself without aid? What skills are there and ready to "hit the deck"? It is fine to say "stand proud" and "be independent". But, where is your nitty gritty? And then there is the question of how much of Wales is totally Welsh. If I've been rightly informed, some parts are and other parts hardly are. How will you deal with this? It can be dealt with but you are leader in this discussion. How would you suggest it be handled?

Owain, you cannot live on history. The only reason for learning history is to profit from it and do better next time. Let's talk of the future.

Please come back and give us some current specifics. And, thank you for your thoughts. I wish you and Wales well whatever path is finally chosen.

By the way, when you speak of "England", are you speaking of the England of history or of today? I know little of your government but, unless I am mistaken, England does not rule Wales today. UK rules Wales from Westminster. Am I right? Hazel
