help with pronunciation |
I would appreciate any advice on the pronuciation of a suburb of Sydney, Llandudno, and a Hunter River Newcastle town, Merthyr Tydfil. Both Suburb and town have been named after their Welsh counterpart, to my knowledge they are never afforded the dignity of correct pronunciation. Poor old Llandudno has its three syllables pronounced identically with a flat Aussie drawl and our efforts with Merthyr Tydfil would make the lads in the valleys weep. To keep the old language alive, some assistance would be appreciated. Thank you.
