I am confused about your pronunciation of the 'u' in 'du'. 'die', in my tongue, is a long 'i'. Is that what you are saying? I thought'u' was a long 'e'in Welsh. > In regard to Methyr Tydfil, please clarify. One: I can think of two ways to pronounce the 'e' in Merthyr, although I can't think how to write those sounds. > As for Tydfil, there are two points. When I listen to Bryn Terfil, he gives two (and I sometimes think) three pronunciations to 'y'. Also, for a non-Welsh native, wouldn't you want to point out that 'f' has a 'v' sound? > We do appreciate your help in these. Hazel
