Re: St Claire |
> Hi Patrick > St Clears (Sancler in Welsh)is a small town located just off the A40 between Carmarthen and Haverfordwest. Carmarthen (Caerfyrddin) is supposedly the birthplace of Merlin (Myrddin) of Arthurian fame - Caerfyrddin could be translated as Merlin's fort! St Clears is a lovely small town on the River Taf, close to the picturesque villages of Laugharne (where the Welsh poet Dylan Thomas lived and whose writing shed can still be visited)and Pendine where the land speed record used to be set along the golden expanse of beach.Am I to understand that St Claire = St Clear? Thank you for the additional information it is of great interest.
