Welsh Nationalism and Heritage |

I am only partially Welsh, and now live in the USA. This might make my position of bringing up this topic a little shaky, but I have to say that I feel Wales is one of the last truly surviving cultures, and that it should be carefully upheld and protected from the 'unification' of the world. In these recent times, with the rising of the New World Tower of Babel, and the mixing and nullifying of countless cultures, languages, and beliefs; it is very important for the true Welshman to protect his heritage from the world. It should be his right to carefully maintain what could easily and very rapidly be the 'watering down' and thinning out of Wales' very old customs and languages. I will not move to wales, a land which has long fascinated me, for I could not bear to take more land away from the Welshman, and be a part of the destruction of the Welsh language. Who's the last person anyone has met who speaks fluent Manx? What is happening to our past? As a American, I cannot claim a deep history or original culture. I could not bear to witness the rest of the earth become a sort of United States of the World. Do we honestly believe that we can build this tower of Babel to the heavens again? Can we now, truly, in our self confidence as Men hope to uphold a civilization devoid of history? I am glad that Wales still holds it's language and culture. I hope the rest will share my opinion.
