Henry Grey

Father: Thomas Grey, 2nd Marquis of Dorset

Mother: Margaret Grey

Born 1514. Henry broke off his betrothal to Katherine Fitzalan, sister of the Earl of Arundel when the opportunity to marry Frances Brandon presented itself. Frances was the daughter of Mary Tudor, youngest sister of Henry VIII, and this alliance brought Henry Grey into the royal household. Henry was a close associate of John Dudley and took a place in his daughter's Council during her 'reign.' Henry proclaimed Mary as Queen when it became clear that the Council had turned against them. Five days after Jane's execution, Henry Grey was brought to trial and found guilty of treason for his part in Dudley's scheme. He was beheaded on Tower Hill 23 February 1554.
