Lady Jane (1985)
Directed by Trevor Nunn

Movie credits

Should you wish to learn more about Lady Jane, I recommend the 1985 movie Lady Jane, directed by Trevor Nunn. Despite historical inaccuracies, it is a very moving and watchable story. Before you watch this film, remember, Jane did not address economic concerns during her nine day reign. In fact she did little more than sign a few documents written by her Council. There is no surviving evidence to suggest that she was aware of problems concerning England's peasantry. Jane was highly born and would have had little or no contact with people below her class.

(right) The Nine Days Queen (also known as, Tudor Rose) was made in 1936. It starred Nova Pilbeam as Jane, Sir John Mills as Guildford, Dame Sybill Thorndike and Sir Felix Aylmer.
