Leaving the Dome

As we left the Dome, we knew that we could have spent so much more time there, both in the main arena and the areas round about. The 6:00pm closing time will be extended to 11:00pm in high summer, possibly easing the rush to buy souvenirs which we witnessed on our way out. However, I would advise anyone to visit sooner rather than later to take advantage of the quieter winter months. The view of the Dome lit up in early evening is another good reason to plan your visit soon.

The journey back along the river by night is even more magical than the journey there. We dozed a little in the warm comfort of the boat as we were carried past the illuminated Canary Wharf Tower, Greenwich Palace, the OXO Tower, the Tower of London, Festival Hall and the Palace of Westminster. We then came to rest below the London Eye. It had turned out to be an unexpectedly fun and fascinating day. I would recommend it to anyone.
