Blackburn
L A N C A S H I R E Blackburn was a town dominated by the cotton mills. Today that era is past and evidence of the mills and their Industrial machines can be found in Blackburn's Lewis Textile Museum.

Blackburn's cathedral dates back to the 19th century and the town to before 600 AD when Roman soldiers were stationed there. Roman artifacts are on display in the Blackburn Musuem and Art Gallery. Blackburn is not a tourist attraction. The city's main claim to fame these days is as the home of the Blackburn Rovers, a football club formed back in 1874 that has quite a few enthusiastic fans creating pages about the club on the Web.
