Shakespeare's Globe is a faithful reconstruction of the original Southwark theatre and the ideal venue for enjoying the Bard's plays staged as they were when they were first enjoyed by Elizabethian audiences. The theatre is the thing, but it is only part of the Shakespeare Globe Centre an educational, cultureal and entertainment complex that includes a museum under the theatre, research facilities and an exhibition of Elizabethan London.

HOURS: May - Sept. (theatre season) 9am - 12 noon.  Oct. - Apr. 10am - 5pm. During the season, opening times may vary. We suggest that you call the box office or visit the Globe's official Website to be sure.

REFRESHMENTS: There is a cafe and restaurant on premises, serving lunch and supper. Reservations are suggested. (0) 171 902 1503.

NEARBY: On the south bank of the Thames, a short walk from the Globe are the Tate Galley of Modern Art, The Rose Theatre Site, The Anchor Pub, Southwark Cathedral, the Clink and the London Dungeon.
